]]> 1968 was the year that Ford decided to shake things up a little bit. The Ford Mustang GT500 KR came into the publics eye. This was also the first year of the very popular Bullitt Mustang. Steve McQueen drove the all green Bullitt Ford Mustang in one of the most famous car chase scenes of all time. The wheels on the car he drove were all black 5 star wheels. In 1968 the Ford Mustang started to become more of a muscle car than just a cruiser. Ford also decided to change the look of some of the OEM Mustang wheels. The Ford Mustang GT500 KR came with 15 inch steel wheels. You could still buy the Mustang with hubcaps if you really wanted too but why would you. It was probably popular back in the day but I am so glad that almost every new car nowadays does not sell them with a new car. Here are a couple photos of the stock Mustang wheels from 1968.
